Rea, Kristen

Hello My Name Is...

Mrs. Kristen Rea

RTI Teacher

I have the following degrees:

BA in Interdisciplinary Studies from UTSA with a concentration in math

MA in Reading from Grand Canyon University

MA in Educational Leadership from Concordia University

I am starting my 21st year in education. All my years of teaching have been here at Collier Elementary including my student teaching. I taught 1st grade for eight years, 4th grade for six years and 5th grade for three years. This is my fourth year as the RTI teacher (response to intervention). Over the past several years, I have had the opportunity to attend workshops, inservices and participated in book studies on how to implement RTI and best practices. I continue to look forward to this new challenge. I am excited to work with our Collier students. We have amazing students and I feel very blessed to be a part of their lives.

One of the most rewarding things for me, is when my former students come back to visit. I love to see how well they are doing and especially when they tell me I have made a difference.

If I can be of help in anyway , please let me know.

Here is a little bit about me:

I have an amazing family that keeps me very busy. When I am not looking at data and working on interventions, I am either taking my daughters to soccer practice or soccer games. I love to take pictures, scrapbook, cook and bake.

I also love to travel and have been to Scotland and the former Soviet Union.
